Things to consider in your slide presentation:
1. Why have you created this work or overall vision about your work?
2. Who are your influences?
3. Make sure you have good quality images of your work
4. Make sure your text is readable from the back row of seats. Limit the amount of text.
5. Check the spelling and grammar
6. Don’t use flashy transitions such as flying in text, cute sounds, etc. • Let the work speak for itself.
Things to consider before giving your presentation:
1. Know your audience • Know your time allotment • Plan carefully
2. Time your presentation • Don’t have more slides than you have time to present
3. Speak clearly • Start with a quick overview, use your short bio as a reference.
4. Do not read from your slides • Speak in a more extemporaneous manner • Practice, Practice, Practice!
5. Use written “bullet points” on index cards or a tablet if needed. Power Point has a place to put notes on each slide that can only be viewed by the presenter. See examples below.
6. Face your audience, not the screen. The slides are for your audience.
7. Make sure you practice your presentation a couple of times before giving your presentation.
